A woman is the silent strength behind her family, she is the lamp of the home and a beacon of joy in the church. We read of several powerful women in the Bible. Mary, Rachel, Rebecca, Ruth, Esther, are a few examples of women who have changed the course of history. They were ordinary women: daughters, wives and mothers but accomplished great things for the Lord and are still inspirations for us women today.
A beautiful woman has her lips for truth, her voice for kindness, her eyes for compassion, her hand for charity, and a heart to love. May we prayerfully strive to be the kind of Christ-centered women God wants us to be so that our church ministry will be blessed.
Vision Statement
The goal of this fellowship is to encourage women members of our Church to actively serve in our Church community and as well in the wider community outside of the Church. To stir in them the love of Christ and celebrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit so they can effectively fulfill the role God entrusted to them.
Mission
The primary objective of the Women’s Fellowship is to motivate and enable all women members to participate in group activities and encourage them to take leadership roles, develop stronger relationships and build trust amongst each other. We strive to increase collaboration and camaraderie among members and walk in Christ as a Church Community.
Eligibility Criteria
Women members of the CSI Church, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, who are 25 years and above can be a member of the Women’s Fellowship.
Membership Fee of $25.00 per year.
Operational Structure
The Women’s Fellowship is led by office bearers elected for a 2-year term.
Meetings are scheduled for every 3rd Sunday of the month from Jan-Dec. The meetings are held after the worship service and social hour. The fellowship strives for 100% attendance at each meeting. Effective participation by all women members is encouraged for the success of the fellowship.
Activities
Christian Woman Worker: Support a Christian woman worker at MKD, Kottayam, Kerala, India
Christmas Lunch: Provide Christmas lunch at Bethel Ashram, Thiruvalla, Kerala, India
Women’s Fellowship meeting: The Women’s Fellowship has monthly meetings at the church premises, during which interactive discussions on Biblical topics, sharing testimonies, prayer and discussions on plans for upcoming events are held.
Altar Guild: Setup the Altar according to liturgical colours of the church year and setup the Altar for special occasions according to CSI Almanac. At the end of Eucharistic Services, the Holy Vessels are washed, cleaned and put away safely.
Women’s Sunday: Conduct Lay-Ministry, Sermon, Special Song, Preparing Church, Altar and premises.
Women’s Fellowship Retreat: Praise and worship, Bible study sessions by visiting speaker, Breakfast, Lunch & snacks are provided for the day.
Bible Study & Quiz: For spiritual growth of the community Bible Study & Quiz activities are conducted
Fund Raising: Fund raising activities like Cake Bake & Pickle sale are conducted as required, in order to generate funds for the regular maintenance & functioning of Women’s Fellowship group.
Charity: As on-going project we weave mats out of milk bags and donate to the homeless in Canada & support other countries where needed. The talent, drive, and commitment of dedicated women helped these visions to materialize.
Preparation for Special Services (Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Harvest Festival & Christmas): We participate in preparing and decorating Church, Altar and premises. For most major occasions our women members prepare mouth watering, authentic Keralite meals which are tasty and delicious.
Spring Clean-up – Participate in cleaning Church and premises.
Annual Church Picnic: Actively participate in organizing the Annual Church Picnic.
