Welcome to Malayala Lokam. The Malayalam Language Program began on April 3, 2005 and completed fifteen years of its ministry in our church. Through this program, we aim to teach our children our culture and our mother tongue so that they can actively participate in our worship service.
Vision Statement
The long-term goal of the program is to facilitate the participants to communicate, read the Bible and our liturgy in Malayalam so that they can actively participate in the Worship Service.

Mission
The primary objective of the program is to enable the participants to talk, read and write Malayalam by learning the alphabets

Eight Years and above
Operational Structure
The program is scheduled for 3 Trimesters, each trimester being a 3-month session: January-March, April-June and September-November respectively. The classes will be online and are held on Sundays evening for thirty minutes from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
Attendance – Perfect attendance and effective participation were the program’s expectations. Anybody who is absent for more than 3 classes in three months time will have to forfeit these classes. These include sick leave as well as late arrivals.
Activities
The teaching strategies that are in place are: One-on-One Teaching, Independent Learning, Motivation, Peer Teaching, Hands-on Approach, and Reflection.
For assessment, Weekly Quizzes and Projects
All conversation in the class will be in Malayalam. Teachers may use English to explain some words or phrases.
Ensure that the participants bring the required materials to the class: (a) three ring binder (b) pencil and (c) eraser.
Anniversary Celebrations
Students and congregation participate in their Cream and Gold Kerala outfits. The program tries its best to pass on Kerala’s beautiful culture and values to our next generation.
Students perform cultural activities using what they have learned in the class.
The students display their final project/summative in the Great Hall which was decorated with Kerala Artifacts. Serves Kerala specialties.
Fundraiser
In the past, Malayala Lokam raised funds to support the Special Schools – CSI HSS for the Partially Hearing, Manakkala, Adoor and CSI VHSS for the deaf, Tholassery, Thiruvalla. Malayala Lokam will be continuing to support these schools in the future.
