Missions

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matt. 28:19-20)

Mission Statement
The Missions Committee aims to:

    • proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God, and respond to human need by loving service; thus engaging in this mission with humility.
    • revive and renew structures which will awaken and challenge the people of God to work; pray and give for the spread of gospel.

CSI Church Toronto Missions team’s Modus Operandi

      • Contributions from the CSI Church Toronto Missions Team, comprising 34 members at present.
      • Donations from Individual members, Men’s Fellowship, Women’s Fellowship, Youth Fellowship, Sunday School & Church general fund.
      • The Church Executive Committee approves & disburses the funds based on the recommendations by the Missions Committee.
      • Any restricted contribution from a member/s is distributed as requested by the member/s or group/s for that particular project or program. However, if the need for the project or program is exceeded, then the Missions committee shall recommend the left over funds be utilised for another project or program.
      • All donations will be acknowledged with an official receipt by CSI Church Toronto.

The Vice-President will represent the Mission’s Committee’s decisions & actions at the Executive committee. The executive committee has the final say in all Missions-related matters, which are binding to all members of the CSI Church Toronto.

Missions Committee

The Missions committee will be elected by the general body during the annual elections.

The process of election is as follows:

      • Achen as President is the head of Missions. Kochamma, and the Directors of Men’s, Women’s, Youth, and Sunday school are ex officio members. 6 members are elected by the general body. On completion of the election process, a Mission’s Co-ordinator is elected by the Mission’s Committee.
      • The tenure of the Mission’s Committee shall be the same as that of the Executive committee of the church.
      • The Missions committee will only be an advisory body to the Church Executive Committee.

The present Missions committee members are: Siby Achen (Rev. George Jacob), Susan Kochamma (Susan George), Chris George, Grace Ann Samuel, Emily Varghese, Raimole Joseph, Suja Koshy and John Mathew. The ex officio members are: Abraham P. George, Susan Joseph, Joseph Thomas, Sanju Cherian & Diani Mathai. The co-ordinator for the team is John Mathew.

The members of this CSI Church, Toronto mission’s team comprising 35 members contribute $ 20 each per month to support IEM Missionary Shibu Mathew in Uttralla, U.P, India, Kondapally extension at Parkal Mission, Sarah John (Power to Change) & the CSI Kuttanad Mission. Additional Missions support in future will be taken based on the availability of funds & at the discretion of the Missions & Executive committees.
These should enable us to function in an organised manner, provide direction, create accountability & promote growth. May the LORD lead, guide, provide, and protect us.
