CSI church, Toronto celebrated the 8th anniversary of Malayala Lokam  on April 14, 2013. The students and teachers took  an active part in the worship service, including the reading of lessons in Malayalam.

The celebration at the church basement created nostalgic memories of Kerala. “Sarees, banana leaves, elephant miniature, Thooku Villaku, Chellam, Para” were some of the artifacts used to adorn the basement, and this undoubtedly exuded the ambience of a typical, ancient Kerala home.

Malayala Lokam decided to raise money towards supporting Manakkala Higher Secondary School for the partially hearing, Adoor and V.H.S.S for the deaf, Tholassery, Thiruvalla. Vegetarian meals were served for $2.00. The menu included Rice, Ghee, Parippu Curry, Pacha Moru, Aviyal, Thoran, Vazhuthananga Theeyal, Pickle, Banana Chips and dessert – Yogurt, Banana and Sugar. We could raise $ 750.00. This would not have been possible without the generous support of our congregation and our heart-felt thanks go out to each one of them.

Our boys gave a very impressive presentation of  Villu Pattu, composed by our beloved Achen, which captivated everyone’s heart. This musical recitation traced the journey of CSI church Toronto since its inception, the workings of the various fellowships, and the ministry of Malayala Lokam. The pace and diction of the recital transported the audience to the portals of Keralam. The impeccable dialogue delivery in Malayalam was a real treat! In addition, our girls presented a very graceful Christian devotional dance to the song Nee Mozhinjal.  The rhythmic group dance embodied a fusion of classical and folk dance. It was also the perfect way to show how art could be used for the glory of God.

Praise God and our thanks to Achen, Kochamma and our church family for everything.
