DESCRIPTION:Confirmation Service is the completion of Baptism taken in the name of Jesus Christ. In Baptism\, god-parents\, on behalf of the child takes pledge that they will renounce Satan and his works\, they will believe in Lord Jesus Christ and they will obey the Word of God in their lives. In Confirmation\, the candidates take those responsibilities on themselves and accept the responsibility of their life in relation with God. Also the ‘confirmed’ candidates are incorporated into the full membership of the faith community. Through the Confirmation Service\, the candidates are made eligible to participate in the Holy Communion which is the fellowship of the believers in the Body and Blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ\, remembering the great act of sacrifice by our Saviour.” \n“Rt. Rev. Thomas K Oommen\, Deputy Moderator of the Church of South India and the Bishop of Madhya Kerala Diocese is visiting the CSI Church\, Toronto to grace the Service of Confirmation. During the Episcopal Visit\, he will be confirming 10 candidates in their faith. Bishop Thomas K Oommen is the seventh bishop in Madhya Kerala Diocese\, and falls in the twelfth position in the great lineage of the Anglican Bishops from the year 1879. Our beloved Thirumeni bears the legacy of the Kanjirappally family in Thalavady in Kerala. Dr. Susan Thomas is Thirumeni’s wife\, and the President of the Women’s Fellowship\, CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese. She is well known in the Theological circles and Women Empowerment endeavours. Mr. Sony Thomas and Mrs. Santeena Jean are the children of the family and they are married to Mrs. Asha and Dr. Jean respectively. Surely it is a blessing that we have the honoured presence of our Thirumeni and Kochamma with us for a couple of days. DESCRIPTION:Anson Thomas\nAnson Thomas\, aged 48 years\, is an ex- Officer from Customs \, Mumbai. He served for 20 years in the Indian Customs and took voluntary retirement. He has been doing full time ministry since then. \nFor the past 23 years\, Anson has been involved in the work of uplifting the children and women from the Red Light areas of India. CNN awarded the Real Heroes Award for Women Empowerment to Anson Thomas in 2009 for rescuing over 650 girls from the Red light areas of India. The entire amount of the award money that he received was given to a lady who he had rescued in 1996. Anson\, through his persistent efforts has got many brothel keepers convicted and brothels sealed. Due to this\, Anson and his family have gone through a lot of threats and allegations from the brothel keepers and vested interests. \nAnson is married to Rachel and has two daughters: Rebecca and Ruth. Anson hails from Thonniayamala\, Pathanamitta district of Kerala\, but is born and brought up in Mumbai. Anson has a post graduate degree in Commerce. He is a member of St. Thomas MarThoma church\, Santacruz\, Mumbai. \nAnson is not just limited to his own church\, but has worked for social issues along with the catholic\, CSI\, orthodox and other churches. He was instrumental in starting Navjeevan Centre\, the Marthoma church rehabilitation project for the children from the Red light areas of Mumbai \nAnson has started Sports Mission which is the only business enterprise in the world to end slavery. Sports Mission uses its resources to stop human trafficking and other social causes. Sports Mission products like calendars\, T-shirts\, pins\, stickers\, badges are sold to create awareness among people to stop human trafficking and to proclaim that “Women are “not for sale”.
