Rev. Anish M. George Padickamannil

2018 – 2022

Rev. Anish M George Padickamannil was ordained as a Deacon in 2012 and as a Presbyter in 2013 by Bishop Rt. Rev. Thomas K Oommen. Anish Achen served as the Associate Presbyter at CSI Ascension Church, Kottayam and the Chaplain of CSI Ascension Sevana Nilayam, Kottayam. He also served as Presbyter at CSI St. James Lingarajapuram, Bangalore, St. Paul’s CSI Church Valanjavattom and as Coordinator of CSI Thiruvalla Mission. He worked as the Vice President, Youth Conference and Diocesan Youth Council member, CSI Madhya Kerala. Also, he worked as the Warden of CMS Industrial School, Kottayam, Secretary of Christian Institute Alappuzha and assisted at St. Mary’s the Virgin Malayalam Congregation, Mumbai during his theological probation period. He also served as the Asst. Manager of Al steel Industrials Kollam, Small Scale Industrial Unit for KSEB.  Rev. Anish M George Padickamannil was born in 1978 to Mr. P M George and Mrs. Susannamma George, Kandanthottukara Padickamannil family, and belongs to St. Andrews CSI Church Kumplampoika, Pathanamthitta. He is the grandson of late Rev. P M Easow of CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese. He completed his schooling at CMS LP School, Komalur, Bharanikavu and CMS High School Kumplampoika. He completed his undergraduate education at Catholicate College Pathanamthitta and did his theological studies at Bishop’s College Calcutta. He is married to Mrs. Jucy Varghese, the second daughter of late Mr. Thomas G Varghese and late Mrs. Ammini Varghese from St. Stephan’s CSI Church Puthuval, Pathanapuram. Achen and Kochamma are blessed with three children Aneasow P Anish, Sthuthi P Anish and Mahathw P Anish.

Rev. George Jacob

2014 – 2018

Rev. George Jacob, also known as Siby Achen, was born in 1974 to Prof. Jacob Abraham and Prof. Bala Jacob, Koodathumannil family, and belongs to St. John the Baptist CSI Church Pallom, Kottayam. Achen completed his B.A. Sociology at CMS College, Kottayam and did his theological studies B.D. at Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam. Achen was ordained as a Deacon in 2007 and as a Presbyter in 2008 by Bishop Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel.  Now Achen is serving as General Secretary, Christian Education Department, CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese.  He served at CSI Christ Church, Koothattukulam, and CSI East Parade Church, Bangalore, CSI Church Toronto, and CSI All Saints’ Church, Bharanickavu. He also served as the Chaplain to both Bishop Thomas Samuel and Bishop Thomas K Oommen.  He is married to Mrs. Susan George, also known as Shalu, the youngest daughter of Mr. A J Thomas and Mrs. Rachel Thomas from St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India, Thittamel, Chengannoor. Achen and Kochamma are blessed with two daughters, Maria George and Rachel George.

Rev. Shaji M. Johnson

2011 – 2014

Rev. Shaji M Johnson was ordained as Deacon in 2002 and Presbyter in 2003 by Bishop Rt. Rev Thomas Samuel. Shaji Achen currently serves as Vicar, Holy Trinity CSI Church, Alumpeedika. In the past he served as Vicar in Perumthuruthy, Pariyaram, Thiruvanchoor, and New Delhi Pastorates.  He obtained his B.A. from Marthoma College, Thiruvalla, B.D. from the Senate of Serampore University and a Diploma in Theology from the United Theological College, Bangalore. He was the General Secretary of the Diocesan Youth Movement and the Secretary of the Diocesan Choristers Association.  Shaji Achen is a talented musician who has written and composed around 200 Christian songs many of which have been staged in conventions, albums, and ecumenical programs. He has also actively participated in various ecumenical platforms while serving in Kerala. Rev. Shaji M Johnson was born in 1968 to Mr. A J Moses and Mrs. A Sosamma, Ellumkalayail family, Changancherry and belongs to St. Peter’s CSI Church Mundukotta. Rev Shaji M Johnson is married to Sangeeth Mariam Thomas, daughter of late Mr. Thomas Paul and Mrs. Mary Thomas, Chempamkunnel family, Chingavanam, Kottayam. She graduated with Master of Science M.Sc. in Education, Chemistry. Kochamma is also a talented singer and was a member of our Church Choir. Achen and Kochamma are blessed with two daughters, Hannah Susan Shaji and Hazel Mary Shaji.

Rev. Raju Jacob

2008 – 2011

Rev. Raju Jacob was born in 1960 to Mr. K C Chacko and Mrs. Kunjunjamma Chacko, Malliyil family, and belongs to CSI Ascension Church, Kanjikuzhy, Kottayam. Achen completed his B.Sc. at CMS College, Kottayam and did his theological studies B.D. at Union Biblical Seminary, Pune. Achen was ordained as a Deacon on May 1, 1990 and as a Presbyter on February 22, 1991 by Bishop Rt. Rev. M C Mani.  Now Achen is serving as Chaplain Baker Chapel, Manager Diocesan buildings, Bursar Baker Vidyapeeth.  Achen also served as Vicar of CSI Church, Toronto, and as Director of Missions. During the tenure of Rev. Raju Jacob, the CSI Church, Toronto was blessed with a new church and a parsonage and had its first worship service at 1315 Kipling Ave on January 16, 2011. He is married to Moly Jacob, daughter of Mr. T M Jacob and Mrs Annamma Mathai, Thundiyil Valuparambil.  Achen and Kochamma are blessed with three children Anna Jacob and her husband Advocate Febin Mathew, Chacko Jacob, and Mathew Jacob.

Rev. T. J. John

2005 – 2008

Very Rev. T J John was ordained as a Deacon on May 8, 1992 and ordained as a Presbyter on May 1, 1993 by Bishop Rt. Rev. M C Mani. John Achen now serves as Zonal Minister – North Zone and Vicar of St Marks CSI Church Muttambalam.  Achen was also the Vicar of CSI Church Vazhoor, CSI Church Chenneerkkara. CSI Church, Toronto, Canada, Delhi Malayalam Congregation. Nalunnakkal CSI Church,  Ettumanoor CSI Church, Muttambalam CSI Church. He also served as District Chairman Pallom, District Chairman Ettumanoor, Administrator Bethel Ashram Visitor, Bursar CSI College for Legal Studies, Kanakkari, Diocesan Social Board Secretary, Diocesan Finance Board Secretary, Diocesan Executive Member, St Monica’s Chaplain, Vicar Kattampak, Missionary Thottapradesa. Achen obtained his B.Sc. Physics at St. Thomas College, Ranny, B.D. at Leonard Theological College Jabalpur, Deutch Language at Max Muller Bhavan Bangalore and Pune, Counselling at Deutchland, studied at Germany KiHo. Rev T J John was born in 1958 to Mr. T C John and Mrs. Aleyamma John, Thadathil family, Ranny and belongs St. Paul’s CSI Church, Ranny. John Achen is married to Omana John, daughter of Mr. P M Joseph and Mrs. Mariamma Joseph, Nedumpala House and they are blessed with three children and four grand children. Son – Rev. Jenu John and his wife Sherin Jacob Jenu, daughter – Jins Mariam John and her husband Rev. Mathew Daniel, and daughter – Jerrin Aleyamma John, Grand Children – Jose Dani Mathew (grandson), Jordan John Jenu (grandson), Jovita Omana Jenu (granddaughter) and Jobish John Mathew (grandson)

Rev. A. C. Cheriyan

2000 – 2005

Rev. A C Cheriyan was born on September 18, 1937 to Mr. K C Cheriyan and Mrs. Mariamma Cheriyan, Alamala family, Kaviyoor, Kerala, India. Achen completed his Intermediate from MarThoma College, Tiruvalla, B. Sc. from St. Berchmans College, Changanassery, M.Sc. from Madras Christian College, Thambaram, B.D. from UTC Bangalore.  Prior to becoming a Presbyter Achen worked as a Physicist, Velloor CMC, Physics Lecturer, Jypmer Medical College, Pondicherry.  Achen was in Nigeria as a Missionary Teacher and as Dean in a Teacher Training College from 1964 to 1988. Cheriyan Achen became a Deacon in 1988 and was ordained as a Presbyter in 1990 by Bishop Rt. Rev. K C Seth. He  currently serves as a Visiting Pastor at Government Leprosy Hospital, Chevayur Calicut. Cheriyan Achen also served in CSI Cathedral, Calicut, later on in parishes in Mannuthy Thrissur, Shornoor, Koyilandy. Returning from Canada, Achen served in Kaviyoor Parish and now settled in Calicut with his wife Elizabeth Rose Cherian, daughter of Mr. Henry Abia, a well-known violinist in North Kerala and Mrs. Lilly Abia. Kochamma belongs to Abia family and they are blessed with three sons and their families.

Right Rev. K. Michael John

1994 – 2000

Bishop Right Rev. K Michael John was born on December 19, 1924 to Mr. K Varghese Michael and Annamma Varghese, Kuzhianickal family. Bishop John completed B.A. at U C College, Alwaye, and did his theological studies B.D. at Bishop’s College, Calcutta and M.Th. from Virginia University, USA. Rt. Rev. Michael John was ordained as a Deacon in 1953, as a Presbyter in 1954 by Bishop Rt. Rev. C K Jacob, he was consecrated as Bishop on January 5, 1984 and served as the Bishop of Church of South India East Kerala Diocese.  He served as a presbyter at Karappuram Mission, Cherthala, Ranni, Olassa, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kottayam, Kanjikuzhy, Kuwait, Mavelikara and CSI Church, Toronto parishes. Bishop also served as a Headmaster Christian Institute, Alleppey, Lecturer and Principal C N Bible School, Thiruvalla, Frontier Missionary  Madhya Kerala Diocese, Medical Board Secretary Special Officer East Kerala Diocese formation. Thirumeni is married to Mrs. Alice John, daughter of late Rev K J Chacko and late Mary Chacko.  Bishop and Kochamma are blessed with three children, K Jacob John (Bejoy), Asha Soju and John K John (Kochumon).

Rev. Shajan A. Idiculla

1991 – 1993

Rev. Dr. Shajan A Idiculla was born on April 15, 1957 in Kollakadavu, Chengannur to Mr. A O Idicula and Mrs. Mariamma Idicula. Achen belongs to Alummoottil Grace Cottage. Rev. Dr. Shajan A Idiculla was ordained as a Presbyter on March 18, 1985 by Bishop Rt. Rev. M C Mani and was ordained as a Deacon on May 1, 1984. Currently, Achen is the Vicar of CSI St. Andrews Church, Chengannur.  Achen served as a Vicar to Kannetty, Muscat, Kallumala, Karode, Velluthuruthy, Vadavathoor, Mundakayam, Trivandrum, Kanjikuzhy, Mooledom, CSI Church, Toronto, and Chembur parishes. Achen also served as Diocesan Executive Committee Member, CSI Synod Member,  CSI Synod Executive Committee member, Diocesan Convention Convenor, Diocesan Mission Board Secretary, Diocesan Council Secretary, Kerala Council of Churches Youth Commission Convenor, KCC Executive Committee Member, Member National Council of Churches, C. S. I. Bishop Selection Committee Member, Bursar Bishop Moore Vidyapith Mavelikkara, Missionary Parakkal Mission. Achen completed his B.A, B.D, M.Div. D.Min.  Achen is married to Annamma Shajan daughter of P P Thomas and Aleyamma Thomas of Panachackal House, Thekkemala, Kozencherry.  Achen and Kochamma are blessed with a son, Rev. Asish Idiculla Varghese and his wife Litty Asish , and a daughter Asamsa Marina Varghese and her husband Rev. Sandeep Oommen and two grandchildren, Athul and Arpana.

Rev. George M. John

1987 – 1989

Rev. George M John was born to Mr. M K John and Mrs. Annamma John, Puthuchira Mannil family, Kuzhikala, a branch of the Elanthoor Thazhayil Kudumbam. Achen migrated to Canada in the early 70s with his young family. He was the first president of the CSI Church, Toronto. Achen was ordained as a Deacon and as a presbyter in 1986 at Kottayam, Kerala by Bishop Rt. Rev. M C Mani, Madhya Kerala Diocese of Church of South India. Following the ordination, Achen conducted his first worship service at CSI Church, Toronto on July 26, 1986. He completed his schooling in CMS High School Kuzhikala and obtained his undergraduate degree in B.A. from Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta. After his M.A. he completed his B.D. from United Theological College, Bangalore and completed his M. Th. Achen served as the Youth Secretary of Madhya Kerala Diocese, Kottayam and he was the chief editor of Yuva Lokam, The Diocesan Weekly for Youth. Achen is very active in Mission work, supports several social causes and charity works, church construction in North India and for the expansion of the Kingdom of God. He is married to Dr. Elizabeth George M.B.B.S, M.D, D.G.O from Modayil family, Nedungaadapally, and she is practising as a family physician in Toronto. Kochamma is the daughter of Rev. M.P Mathew. Achen and Kochamma are blessed with a son, John George and his wife Rani John, and a daughter Dr. Ann Mills and her husband Pastor Samuel Mills, and two grandchildren.

Rev. Thomas Ninan

1986

Rev. Prof. Thomas Ninan Karimpil, had the honour of conducting the first CSI Eucharist on May 11, 1986 at our church, the CSI Church, Toronto.  Achen was ordained as a presbyter by Bishop Rt. Rev. M C Mani and Bishop Rt. Rev. John Sponge at New Jersey, USA.  Achen served as a Presbyter in New Jersey, Tampa, Boston, Hudson Valley and Philadelphia. Achen is now retired and residing in Philadelphia with Kochamma.  Achen was born on May 12, 1938 to Advocate Mr. K T Ninan and Mrs. Annamma Ninan, Karimpil, Kallumpatt, Kodukulanji.  Achen’s father Adv. Ninan was the Lay Secretary and Legal Advisor during Bishop Rt. Rev. M M John and Bishop Rt. Rev. M C Mani and Registrar of the Diocese during Bishop Rt. Rev. T S Joseph’s term.  Achen’s mother passed away when he was two years old.  Achen completed his B.A. Economics from UC College, Aluva and M.A. English from St. John’s College, Agra and M.A. English from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey USA. Achen also attended courses at The Kerala United Theological Seminary, Trivandrum, Wycliffe College, Toronto, The Haggai Institute, Singapore, The London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, London, UK of which John Stott was chairman. Achen was one of the first teaching staff in the team who established Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara and served as English Lecturer/Professor from 1964 to 1991. Achen was Chaplain and Chairman of the Department of English at Bishop Moore College Mavelikara. Achen is married to Valsala Thomas B.Sc. B.Ed. and Kochamma was a teacher at the Bishop Moore Vidyapith Mavelikara.  Achen and Kochamma are blessed with a son Shiju Ninan and his wife Reena Ninan, and a daughter Sheena Varughese and her husband Vinu Varughese and five grandchildren.
