Mani-Thirumeni

Rt. Rev. M. C. Mani, the 4th Bishop of CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese, finished his race and went to the heavenly abode. The bishop served the diocese from 1981 to 1993. Thirumeni was also the 9th shepherd in the great legacy of the diocese starting from 1879, when it was the part of the Anglican Diocese of Travancore and Cochin. A shepherd who wished to care for the poor, who envisioned the spiritual and material growth of the diocese, who tried to be one with the sister faith communities in Christ – Bishop M. C. Mani gave a meaningful leadership to the diocese. The bishop visited CSI Church, Toronto in August 1986, soon after its inception, and gave us the Ecclesial orientation to be a witness for the Lord in the city of Toronto. We, as a Church, cherish the valuable guidance and the orientation given by Thirumeni during his visit. We thank God almighty for the life, the vision, the courageous leadership to the Diocese, and the service to the realm of Kerala Ecumenical Movement. CSI Church, Toronto is deeply moved and mourns the passing of its shepherd. We empathize with the bereaved family members and the diocese who weep over the loss of their beloved. May the Peace and Hope found in the Great Shepherd, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, rule our hearts and minds.
